Stockbridge currently has three residential sites that qualify as “Affordable” housing under state law. The Affordable Housing Trust helps to support these properties while it seeks to develop additional housing opportunities.
Heaton Court on Pine Street in Stockbridge is managed by the Stockbridge Housing Authority and has 51 apartments providing quality, affordable independent living in the Berkshires. Applicants must meet income limits, and must be 60 years of age or older, or disabled if under age 60. The Stockbridge Affordable Housing Trust has supplied funds to Heaton Court to help repair deck rot and damage to patios, bridges and walkways.
Pinewoods at 3 West Stockbridge Road in Stockbridge is operated by Construct, Inc. and offers twenty-five affordable housing units and five more at market rate. Residents must be income qualified. The Stockbridge Affordable Housing Trust financed a new playground at Pinewoods and has contributed to replacing some of the roofs at the complex.
Riverbrook Residence at 4 Ice Glen Road in Stockbridge provides a dynamic home environment in which women with intellectual disabilities can find friendship and opportunities to develop their life goals. The Stockbridge Affordable Housing Trust provided funds toward a major sewer repair project at Riverbrook.
